| The
Division of Cancer Prevention (DCP) will provide funding to
their Community Clinical Oncology Program (CCOP) sites. The
sole exception to this rule is when Cooperative Groups receive
supplemental funding from pharmaceutical companies to conduct
selected trials. In this case, the CTSU will directly forward
the supplemental funds to the CCOP sites. The following practices
apply: |
|
|
One
DCP funding credit is awarded per patient registration through
the CTSU. This funding credit goes towards the grant requirement
each CCOP site has with DCP; this credit carries a monetary
value (set by DCP). |
|
|
Treatment
protocols with an associated Cancer Control section (e.g., Quality
of Life) receive additional partial funding credit according
to the standard determined by DCP. |
|
|
The
CTSU notifies DCP of all CCOP patient registrations once a quarter.
|
 |
The
CCOP site designates which Group will receive the accrual credit
on the CTSU
Patient Enrollment Transmittal Form. The site must be
a member of the Group to which it is assigning credit. An accrual
credit counts towards the accrual requirement that each Cooperative
Group has in place for its sites (this credit does not carry
a monetary value). |
 |
The
CTSU receives the CTSU Patient Enrollment Transmittal Form
and notifies the Cooperative Group of the patient enrollment.
|
|
CCOPs
can only receive accrual credit for trials led by a U.S. Group
that is a CCOP research base or Intergroup trials in which
one of the participating Groups is a research base. All Adult
Groups with the exception of ACOSOG are CCOP research bases.
A CCOP that participates in an ACOSOG-led study will receive
a funding credit from DCP regardless of which Group the CCOP
credits the enrollment to. However, neither the CTSU nor DCP
can guarantee that a credited Group will grant an accrual
credit to the CCOP if the trial is not endorsed by that Group.
To be guaranteed accrual credit for an ACOSOG-led trial, CCOP
sites must credit and be a member of an endorsing Group.
