OBJECTIVE 5: WEB-BASED EDUCATIONAL AND PROMOTIONAL TOOLS

One of the benefits of the CTSU is the availability of several web-based educational and promotional tools that can be used to facilitate the enrollment of patients onto cancer studies listed on the CTSU trial menu. All CTSU members have access to protocols, protocol-specific forms, and educational and promotional tools on the public and members' sides of the CTSU web site. Some materials that the CTSU makes available via the web are listed below.
CTSU Public Web Site
eCourse: The eCourse is an online educational program that introduces and explains the CTSU. The eCourse was created to provide registered CTSU members and those interested in becoming registered members with a convenient method for learning about participation in clinical trials through the CTSU.
CTSU Process Checklist: This checklist is a step-by-step tool that outlines protocol-specific site/patient enrollment registration. A separate checklist is available for Canadian participants.
CTEP-AMS Fact Sheet: This fact sheet instructs new Investigators and associates on how to register with the CTSU by establishing an account with the Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program- Account Management System (CTEP-AMS).
RSS Fact Sheet: This fact sheet defines the Regulatory Support System (RSS) and how it is utilized by the CTSU.
CTSU Active Protocol List:This lists all of the studies that are active on the CTSU menu. It can be sorted by cancer type, Cooperative Group, or protocol number.
CTSU Member Web Site
The protocol specific materials listed here are located on each individual protocol page under Education and Promotion Materials
Physician Fact Sheets: These protocol-specific fact sheets offer a summary of treatment plan and patient population with the schema on the back. These are intended to be used in promoting the CTSU clinical trials among health care providers.
Time and Events: A quick outline of a study's schedule of events, tests, etc.
Schema: A diagrammatic representation of the treatment plan.
Protocol Card: A quick pocket reference about the study, which can be used as a screening tool.
Promotional Activities
Co-Chair Reports: Monthly reports are sent to the study teams for each of the endorsed studies on the CTSU menu; reports include information on CTSU site registrations and accruals.
Featured Protocols: Study chairs may request a trial to be featured in this section of the web site; it is changed monthly.
Bulk Mailings:The CTSU mails materials (letters, toolkits, etc.) on behalf of the study chair to CTSU sites that are registered for a particular protocol.
Newsletters: The CTSU sends articles to be posted in Cooperative Groups newsletters and publishes a CTSU Newsletter about three times per year.
